SKUAST-Jammu Young Professional-I ICAR-NIAP Walk-in 2026

SKUAST-Jammu Young Professional-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) is holding a walk-in interview to engage Young Professional-I staff for a research project run from its Directorate of Research. The project is funded by the ICAR-National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (ICAR-NIAP) and is part of a networking project on Ecosystems, Agribusiness and Institutions, under its Market Information System component.

This is a short project engagement, not a regular university post. It suits you if you hold a master's degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness management or agricultural extension and want hands-on experience with farm market data, field surveys and research reporting.

The notice also lists some desirable skills: field research, documentation, data analysis software, report writing and general computer use. Being able to speak the local language is a plus, which makes sense for a project that collects market information directly from farmers and traders in the region.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement runs for about six months, up to March 2027, or until the project ends. It is tied to the project, so do not expect it to turn into a permanent job.
• Fixed pay: The monthly amount is consolidated, so it is one fixed figure with no separate allowances.
• Desirable skills count: Knowledge of field research, data analysis software and report writing, plus speaking the local language, can give you an edge at the interview.
• In-person only: You must attend the interview yourself. The notice does not mention any online or proxy option.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Go to the Directorate of Research, SKUAST-Jammu, Main Campus Chatha on the walk-in day; the interview starts at 11:00 AM, so reach early to finish the paperwork.
