Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) Executive Director (Mechanical) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

RVNL, a Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has issued Vacancy Notice No. 2026/RVNL/49-MECH for 1 Executive Director (Mechanical) post at its Corporate Office in New Delhi. The appointment is for 5 years on deputation, subject to government approval for exemption from the rule of immediate absorption. Preference will be given to officers with experience in project planning, infrastructure work, or the manufacturing and maintenance of trainsets, DEMU, MEMU, or EMU rakes — this is a senior-level government deputation post, not an entry-level opening, and is meant for officers already working in Group A railway or equivalent service.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility (any one of the following): Officers holding substantively a post in Level-15 (CDA) / E-9 (IDA) analogous grade; OR a post in Level-14 (CDA) with at least 25 years of Group A service; OR a post in IDA E-8 (Rs. 1,20,000 – Rs. 2,80,000) with at least 4 years of service in that grade.
• Service: You should belong to the IRSM E / Mechanical Engineering department.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in project management, planning, infrastructure development, or manufacturing/maintenance of trainsets, DEMU, MEMU, or EMU rolling stock is preferred.

Age Limit

• You should be below 58 years old, calculated as on the closing date of the vacancy notice (12 September 2026).

Salary

• You will get your parent pay plus deputation allowance, based on the Level-15 (CDA) / E-9 (IDA) grade — approximately Rs. 1,82,200 to Rs. 2,24,100 per month under the CDA pay matrix (or Rs. 1,50,000 to Rs. 3,00,000 under the IDA scale).

Selection Process

There is no written exam for this deputation post. Selection is based on screening of your service record:

1. Application Screening: Your application, forwarded through proper channel by your parent department or zonal railway, is checked against the eligibility criteria above.
2. Service Record Review: The competent authority reviews your last 5 years' APAR grading and Vigilance/DAR clearance before shortlisting.
