RMLAU Junior Research Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University (RMLAU), Ayodhya is selecting a Junior Research Assistant (JRA) for a research project in its Department of Biochemistry. The project, titled "Biochemical and Molecular Profiling of Dragon fruit and Elucidation of Bioactive Potential", is sponsored by the Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh (CST UP) under sanction letter CST/D-1554 dated 26 October 2023.

The project is led by Prof. Neelam Pathak as Principal Investigator, with Dr. Manikant Tripathi of the Biotechnology Programme as Co-PI. It is a time-bound, project-funded position, so it suits a fresh first-class M.Sc graduate in microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology or life science who wants hands-on lab experience on fruit biochemistry before moving towards a PhD or a longer research career. Selection is through a walk-in interview at the university.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: Only residents of Uttar Pradesh can apply, as per CST UP guidelines.
• Academic record: You need a first division in graduation as well as in your M.Sc; a first division in only one of them is not enough.
• Tenure: The appointment is full time and purely temporary, lasting only for the remaining period of the project and subject to satisfactory performance.
• Termination: The university can end the engagement at any time without prior notice by paying one month's fellowship.
• Consolidated fellowship: The fellowship is a fixed consolidated monthly amount with no separate allowances mentioned.
• Travel cost: No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview.

• Carry out biochemical profiling of dragon fruit samples for the CST UP project
• Perform molecular profiling work in the Department of Biochemistry laboratory
• Run experiments to study the bioactive potential of dragon fruit extracts
• Record experimental data and maintain project lab records
• Help the Principal Investigator and Co-PI prepare project reports and research findings
