NIT Raipur Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is hiring a Project Assistant in its Department of Mechanical Engineering. The post supports a research project on sustainable water management for the Devbhog Dairy Plant in Durg, Chhattisgarh, built around a comprehensive water audit of the plant.

The project is sponsored by the Chhattisgarh Rajya Sahakari Dugdh Mahasangh Maryadit, Raipur, the state's cooperative dairy federation. It is a short, time-bound project job under Principal Investigator Dr. Satish Kumar Dewangan. Fresh civil engineering graduates who know the basics of water auditing and documentation software are the best fit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The post is purely temporary and ends with the project — the term is 3 months from your date of joining.
• Leave: You get no regular leave; only casual leave (CL) and restricted holidays (RH) as per NIT Raipur rules.
• Discipline: You follow the institute's administrative, financial and disciplinary rules, and regular attendance is recorded.
• Equivalent branches: Civil Engineering or an equivalent branch is accepted, with the marks rule applying to your B.E./B.Tech.
• Cancellation: The institute can cancel the post without giving a reason.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form — you attend the interview in person at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Raipur. Interviews start at 11:30 AM, and you should reach the venue by 11:00 AM with a duly filled application form, your originals and one set of photocopies. Results are announced the same day.
