Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) is hiring 1 Director (Operation) on a contract basis. This is a top executive post in a Government of Maharashtra PSU based in Mumbai. Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) is a Government of Maharashtra PSU that runs and maintains the Metro and Monorail network across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). It has released a notice to fill one Director (Operation) post on a contract basis. This is a single, isolated post with no reservation, so it is open to all eligible candidates.

The selected person will become a member of the Board of Directors and report to the Managing Director. You will be in charge of the safe and smooth running of all Metro and Monorail lines in the region, including feeder services and electric vehicles. The role also covers planning of new lines, staff training, non-fare box revenue, property development and overall financial health of the company. The appointment is for three years, with a one-time extension of two years possible with Board approval.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be a graduate. A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics & Telecommunication engineering from a recognised university is preferred.
• Experience: You need a minimum of 20 years in Group-A or equivalent executive grade in a Government body or PSU, with at least 3 years in operation and safety of Metro, EMU or large rail-based urban transport systems.
• Pay level: You should be in Pay Matrix Level 13 or above of the 7th Pay Commission (or grade pay Rs. 8,700 in pay-band Rs. 37,400-67,000 of 6th CPC, or an equivalent IDA pay scale).
• Preference: Officers of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), IRSEE, IRSME or IRSSE are preferred. Candidates from reputed private organisations with a similar profile can also apply.
• The appointment is on deputation, absorption or selection basis, and knowledge of Marathi is required.

Age Limit

• Your maximum age should be 57 years as on 2 July 2026.
• Retired officers: Retired Group-A officers of Railways or equivalent Metro executives up to 61 years can also apply. They are engaged on contract for three years, extendable up to the age of 65 years.
• Age, qualification and experience will be counted as on the date of the advertisement.

Salary

• You will get a pay of Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month under Pay Matrix Level 14 of the 7th Pay Commission.
• You will also get other allowances, perks and perquisites as applicable to other State Government PSUs.
• For candidates coming from Government or PSU, the pay is fixed on the basis of last pay drawn.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection is done in the following steps:

1. Shortlisting on Merit: Candidates are shortlisted on merit based on the applications received against the vacancy.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for interview in a 1:10 ratio.
3. Document Verification: Your original certificates are checked before final appointment.

Only full-time work experience is counted. Part-time or honorarium service will not be considered.
