KVAFSU Project Technical Support I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) is hiring Project Technical Support I staff for a research project at its Department of Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary College, Shivamogga. The project studies risk factors, transmission and serological status of KFD among high-risk groups, livestock, ticks and monkeys in Karnataka. It covers areas where the disease occurs as well as areas where it is not endemic, under ICMR-PM-ABHIM project funding.

The work combines village visits with laboratory support. You will be part of a project based at the veterinary college, with field activities in identified Karnataka villages. The appointment is tied to the research programme for the financial year 2026-27.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract approval: Your engagement depends on permission from the funding agencies and KVAFSU from time to time. The post is offered on a contractual basis.
• Performance: The university can end your engagement if your work is unsatisfactory. The terms allow termination at any time without giving reasons.
• Service benefits: The notice excludes provident fund, other financial or terminal service benefits, medical insurance and medical reimbursement. It also says you are not entitled to any kind of leave.
• Future claims: The terms exclude claims for experience certificates and do not give you a right to another appointment in the university.
• Travel to the interview: You must meet your own travel expenses. No travel or daily allowance will be paid for attending.
• Unfilled positions: Vacancies that remain unfilled may stay open until suitable applicants are available. The notice gives no separate later interview schedule.
• Interview changes: The authority may cancel the scheduled interview without advance notice or a stated reason.

• Visit identified villages and collect questionnaire responses in KFD endemic and non-endemic areas.
• Record responses on paper and digitally, and support data analysis.
• Collect animal blood, external parasites and clinical samples under veterinary supervision.
• Separate, store and process samples for laboratory diagnosis.
• Assist with clinical sample testing and identification of ticks and other vectors.
• Help organise project training programmes and technical meetings.
• Compile monthly reviews, periodic reports and project plans.
