KU Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026

Kannur University (KU) is hiring 23 Assistant Professors on a contract basis at University Centres in Kerala. If you meet the UGC/NCTE/AICTE Assistant Professor qualification norms, or you are a retired teacher from a Government/Aided College or University Teaching Department, you can apply. Kannur University has released notification for Assistant Professor contract appointments at its University Centres. The appointment is for one academic year, excluding vacation, and the service may be extended up to 3 years. The senior-most teacher among the contract Assistant Professors will be appointed as Assistant Co-ordinator, so this notice also covers the Assistant Co-ordinator responsibility.

• Centre for MBA, Dr. P.K. Rajan Memorial Campus, Nileswaram: 5 posts for MBA

Note: The notification says the number of vacancies may vary based on workload. Reservation rules will apply as per University rules, and if no suitable person is available from a reservation category, the vacancy may be filled from the open merit list.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must meet the minimum Assistant Professor qualifications prescribed under UGC/NCTE/AICTE Regulations, based on the programme and subject.
• Retired teachers: Retired teachers from Government/Aided Colleges and University Teaching Departments can also apply.
• Equivalence certificate: If you passed the qualifying examination in distance mode from a university outside Kerala, you must produce an equivalence certificate from Kannur University at interview or certificate verification.
• Original documents: You must bring original certificates to prove age, qualification, experience, and community at the time of interview.
• Community proof: OBC applicants need the required Non-Creamy Layer certificate where reservation benefit is claimed.

Programme fit matters: The vacancies are linked with MBA, FYIMP/MCA, and LLB/LLM programmes, so your subject qualification should match the centre and programme for which you apply.

Age Limit

• Age limit will be as per UGC Regulations 2018.

Salary

• Assistant Professor on contract: Rs. 50,000 per month
• Assistant Co-ordinator on contract: Rs. 52,000 per month
• The salary is a consolidated monthly amount for the contract appointment.

Selection Process (No Written Exam Mentioned)

Kannur University will make appointments after conducting an interview in each subject.

1. Online Application: Register and submit the online application through the University HR portal.
2. Hard Copy Submission: Send one set of certificates with the printed application to the Registrar by 27 June 2026.
3. Interview: Interview dates will be published on the University website only.
4. Certificate Verification: You must produce original certificates for age, qualification, experience, and community proof.

No individual communication will be sent for interview dates, so you should check the Kannur University website regularly.

Appointment Conditions

• No TA/DA: The University will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
• No regular claim: This contract appointment will not create any future claim for regular appointment or service benefits.
• Bond paper: At the time of appointment, an agreement on bond paper worth Rs. 200 must be executed with the University.
• Hard copy rule: One set of certificates and the application printout must be sent to the Registrar within the deadline.
