JIPMER KOMET Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is building a project team in its Department of Psychiatry at Puducherry for the KOMET trial. Funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the study compares adjunctive oral ketamine with oral midazolam in major depressive disorder. These are contract project appointments, with work shared across trial coordination, participant care during research visits and study data management.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical), Project Manager: the coordination role connects the principal investigator with participating centres and keeps trial operations moving.
• Project Technical Support III, Research Assistant: this role focuses on participants, clinical assessments and treatment-visit follow-up within the trial.
• Project Technical Support III, Data Manager: this role focuses on reliable research records, database checks and data-quality work across study centres.

Post-wise Duties

Project Manager

You will coordinate daily trial operations across centres and help the principal investigator implement the study. The work includes keeping recruitment and retention activities on track, checking that teams follow standard operating procedures, and reporting protocol departures or unblinding events. You will also check paper Case Report Forms (CRFs) against electronic records, organise project meetings and help with bills and progress reports.

Research Assistant

You will support participant screening and informed consent, arrange baseline investigations and carry out trained, protocol-based assessments. You will prepare and administer study drugs as directed by the protocol while protecting blinding. Scheduling visits, giving telephone reminders and entering clinical findings into paper and electronic records are also part of your work.

Data Manager

You will manage the REDCap research database and use validation checks to identify inconsistent entries. Your work includes comparing source documents with CRFs, resolving data queries, keeping records secure and preparing recruitment and data-quality summaries. Periodic visits to participating centres support these checks, so the work extends beyond desk-based data entry.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: the notice gives a likely duration of three years. The appointment is tied to an externally funded research project.
• Study travel: data-quality visits to participating centres attract travel allowance under the permitted travel mode and applicable norms.
• Possible PhD consideration: you can indicate interest in the extramural project PhD stream. Appointment does not guarantee admission: institutional approval, a separate written examination and the principal investigator's agreement would still be needed.
