CSIR TKDL Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Traditional Knowledge Digital Library Unit (CSIR-TKDL Unit) is recruiting project staff for Information systems of traditional knowledge for protection and promotion, project MLP002639. The unit works under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, within the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology.

The project connects traditional medicine, languages, patent knowledge and information technology. TKDL converts knowledge in ancient texts into structured information and modern languages to help protect it against misuse through intellectual property claims; you would join this work on a project contract.

Posts and Disciplines

• Information Technology: The senior associate role is in Delhi, while associate roles are based in Jammu, Leh, Srinagar and Palampur. These are the computing roles within the project.
• Information Technology-Data Science: Associate roles are based in Chennai and Hyderabad, providing a separate computing stream from the general IT posts.
• Ayurveda: Senior associate and associate roles are based in Delhi, with further associate roles in Jammu.
• Unani: Associate roles are based in Hyderabad and Srinagar.
• Sowa Rigpa: Leh has both senior associate and associate roles; Palampur also has associate roles in this discipline.
• Siddha: Both senior associate and associate roles are based in Chennai.
• Patent: Delhi and Hyderabad each have senior associate and associate roles in this stream.
• Sanskrit and Yoga: Delhi has the senior associate Sanskrit role and associate Yoga roles.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The engagement runs initially up to 31 March 2027. Further continuation depends on review and cannot extend beyond the project ending on 31 March 2031.
• Review and cumulative service: Performance is reviewed periodically. Project service across CSIR-TKDL and other CSIR laboratories together cannot exceed six years.
• Contract status: This engagement gives no right to regular appointment, absorption or continuation beyond the approved term. Either side can end the contract with one month of notice or one month of stipend instead.
• Work location: Your posting can change at appointment or during the project according to its needs. Project work may also involve travel.
• Travel costs: CSIR will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the test or interview.
• Waitlist: A panel will remain valid for one year for openings that arise later. The advertised positions can be increased or reduced, and recruitment can be cancelled at any stage.
• Conduct: Canvassing can disqualify you. Engagement follows the CSIR project-staff guidelines, including later amendments.

The test venue follows your post code: Delhi uses CSIR-TKDL, 14 Satsang Vihar Marg; Hyderabad uses CSIR-IICT, Uppal Road, Tarnaka; and Chennai uses CSIR-CLRI, Sardar Patel Road, Adyar. Jammu uses CSIR-IIIM, Canal Road, while Srinagar uses its Branch Laboratory at Sanat Nagar.

For Leh, the venue is the National Institute for Sowa Rigpa, Skalzangling, near Head Post Office. For Palampur, it is CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh; the test schedule gives the reporting time for each city.
