CGCRI Project Assistant II Recruitment 2026: Overview
CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI), part of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, is recruiting a Project Assistant-II for a fiber-laser project at its Kolkata campus. The project, CLP0107, is sponsored by Larsen & Toubro Ltd. and concerns the development of a YB-fiber laser source at 1 um. This is a project-based engagement, with a hybrid interview option stated in the notice.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The initial engagement is for 1 year. It may continue up to 24 November 2027, depending on available funds, so you should not treat the later date as an assured extension.
- Institute discretion: CGCRI may leave the position unfilled or change the number of positions according to its needs. The institute will take the final decision on this matter.
- Separate applications: If you apply for another position or advertisement as well, send a separate application for each where applicable. Your application for this laser project is tied to its own advertisement.
- Interim enquiries: The institute states that it will not handle interim enquiries about its decision on filling the position.

The in-person venue is CSIR-CGCRI, 196, Raja S. C. Mullick Road, Kolkata-32. The scheduled interview time is 11:00 a.m., and you must report at least one hour earlier for the pre-interview checks. The institute will not admit you if you arrive after the reporting time.

B.Sc. in Physics or Electronics, or a 3-year diploma in Engineering/Technology in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical or equivalent, with at least 60% marks/GPA. Applicants awaiting results cannot apply.

Experience in electrical work, electronics or machine handling; proficiency in basic computer skills, Word and PowerPoint; laboratory skills in optics, fiber optics or optomechanics and electrical wire handling.
