Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal is hiring project staff for its College of Horticulture and Forestry at Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. The Department of Forest Biology and Tree Improvement will run the work as part of a multi-institutional bamboo research project supported by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The project studies where major bamboo species can grow and their genetic potential to improve productivity for the pulp and paper industry. Your engagement will be tied to this research project, with extensive fieldwork forming an important part of the assignment.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Associate-I: the research post sits within the forestry project at the Pasighat college.
• Technical Assistant/Field Assistant-I: this is the technical and field-support post under the same project and department.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: You will join for one year. An extension depends on your performance and the project's needs.
• Project-linked contract: The project runs for five years, up to 31 March 2031. Your appointment ends with the project and does not give you a right to a regular CAU appointment or absorption.
• Field travel: Be ready for extensive surveys and germplasm collection in remote parts of Arunachal Pradesh and other states as the project needs. Travel and stays in difficult terrain are part of the work described in the notice.
• Interview travel: CAU will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending.
• Changes to the drive: The authority may cancel or postpone the interview or change the number of posts without giving a reason.
• Conduct: Trying to influence the recruitment through canvassing will lead to disqualification.
