BMC Nurse and X Ray Technician Recruitment 2026: Overview

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is hiring Staff Nurses and an X-Ray Technician for Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar under its Public Health Department. These are temporary contractual hospital appointments for two different clinical-support roles covered by one notice. The work is patient-facing and service-based, so you should be ready for hospital shifts and duties set by the medical team.

Rajawadi Hospital is part of BMC's network of 16 suburban municipal hospitals, and staff may be moved within that network when services need extra support. You will work under the hospital head, senior medical officers, nursing leadership or the relevant department head. This engagement does not give you a claim to a regular BMC post.

Posts and Disciplines

• Staff Nurse: bedside and ward-based nursing work across inpatient, outpatient, emergency and critical-care services, depending on the duty roster.
• X-Ray Technician: diagnostic radiography support, including patient positioning, image work, equipment care and coordination with doctors and other clinical teams.

Post-wise Duties

Staff Nurse

You will give bedside care, monitor patients, support doctors during treatment and keep clear nursing records. You may work in any of the three rotating shifts and can be assigned to outpatient, inpatient, emergency or intensive-care areas when required. You must also follow the hospital's medico-legal procedures while handling patient care.

X-Ray Technician

You will prepare patients for imaging, operate approved radiography equipment and produce usable diagnostic images for the medical team. You will maintain exposure and equipment records, follow radiation-safety practices and help keep the imaging area ready for routine and emergency cases. Your work will remain under the direction of the designated medical or departmental officer.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement runs up to 31 March 2027, with a one-day service break before each 45-day contract segment.
• Operational need: Appointment depends on available posts and hospital requirements; BMC may increase or reduce the positions mentioned in the notice.
• Posting: You can be appointed or moved among the 16 suburban hospitals according to service needs.
• Duty schedule: You must work in all three shifts on a rotating roster, including exceptional or emergency deployment to other hospital units.
• Regular service: The contract creates no right or priority for permanent municipal employment and may end when a regular recruit joins the post.
• Conduct and performance: A serious rules breach, poor performance or negligence in patient care can lead to immediate termination without prior notice.
• Leave: The notice allows proportionate casual leave with the department head's prior approval, subject to the municipal circular governing these contracts.

Buy and submit the form in person at the office of the Administrative Officer (Establishment), Rajawadi Hospital, Ghatkopar East, Mumbai 400077. The counter operates from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on working days and remains closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Attach the original fee receipt to the completed form along with the supporting proof requested for your post. Applications sent earlier, by post or through another office will not be considered. You must also attend any later document check at your own expense and carry the originals with self-attested copies.
